Foster + Partners has revealed designs for Sudameris Plaza, a 39-storey, 188-meter skyscraper in Asunción that will become Paraguay’s tallest building. Set to house Sudameris Bank’s headquarters, the tower blends expressive concrete frames with lush greenery, creating a landmark that redefines the city’s skyline.
The bank will occupy the first six floors and the top two levels, while the middle floors will be leased as commercial office space. At the base, a landscaped plaza, retail block, and public garden activate the ground level, offering cafes, shops, and cultural spaces immersed in nature.
David Summerfield, Head of Studio at Foster + Partners, said, “The elegant tower rises up from the green, shaded gardens at its base, creating an exciting new destination... The greenery travels up the building through sky gardens, improving wellbeing by offering varied breakout spaces that generate new connections with nature.”
Visitors will enter through a double-height lobby set back from the street, leading into a vibrant public garden. Inside, open-plan workspaces on the north side connect to outdoor terraces, while collaboration zones on the south overlook the plaza. The top floors will feature private offices, a boardroom, and a gallery with panoramic views of Asunción.
Sudameris Plaza is more than a corporate headquarters—it’s a green urban statement, combining architectural elegance with social vibrancy and environmental mindfulness.
