JCB India today announced the launch of its largest excavator manufactured in India, a 52-tonne machine designed for both domestic and global markets. The unveiling marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey of customer-driven innovation and integrated support solutions, reinforcing its leadership in the construction and infrastructure equipment sector.
Alongside the 52-tonne excavator, JCB introduced over 10 new products, including enhanced backhoe loaders, a new excavator range (2–5 tonnes), and several technologically advanced, industry-first solutions. Each product reflects JCB’s customer-first philosophy, focusing on lower cost of ownership, higher fuel efficiency, improved machine uptime, enhanced safety, and ergonomics to maximize productivity at project sites.
Deepak Shetty, CEO and MD, JCB India, said: “If it is important for the customer, it is important for us. Entering new segments, improving fuel efficiency, and prioritising operator safety are not just design choices — they are at the heart of JCB’s engineering DNA.”
Sustainability continues to be a defining theme in JCB’s innovation roadmap. In 2023, the company pioneered the industry’s first hydrogen engine powering a backhoe loader with zero carbon emissions. Building on this, JCB has now launched a hydrogen-powered genset, marking another milestone in the transition toward clean energy solutions. Over the past 15 years, JCB’s technological advancements in India have delivered a 45% improvement in fuel efficiency, significantly reducing operating costs and environmental impact.
The company also introduced Parts Online, an e-commerce platform offering instant access to genuine JCB parts, and showcased next-generation telematics for real-time machine health visibility. A newly launched Operator App, part of JCB’s Skill Development Programme, empowers operators to proactively maintain machine health and reduce downtime. Earlier this year, JCB introduced Daksh, a backhoe simulator for safe, cost-effective operator training, with an excavator simulator planned for 2026.
With a robust network of 700+ dealer outlets, five strategically located parts warehouses, 300+ service vans, and over 9,500 trained service engineers, JCB ensures maximum machine availability and minimal downtime across India.
By combining cutting-edge machines, digital platforms, sustainable technologies, and a strong service network, JCB India continues to play a pivotal role in advancing infrastructure growth and supporting the government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
