Ambuja Cements, part of the diversified Adani Portfolio and the world’s 9th largest building materials solutions provider, has launched a key water conservation initiative through the deepening of Bandha Pond in Maldi village, Chhattisgarh.
The upgraded pond will have a storage capacity of 10 lakh cubic litres, benefitting Maldi and 7–8 neighbouring villages. This intervention is expected to reduce water scarcity, support two crop cycles, and strengthen agricultural productivity, thereby improving local livelihoods.
The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by district leaders, five Sarpanches, Janpad Panchayat Upadhyaksh, three Upsarpanch, senior company officials, and around 70 villagers, reflecting strong community support for the initiative.
Following the ceremony, Ambuja’s team engaged with the local community, visited Mudhipar Primary School, and inaugurated a newly developed Rangmanch in Mudhipar village — reinforcing the company’s commitment to holistic and sustainable rural development.
Through this project, Ambuja Cements continues to advance its CSR vision of creating long-term impact in rural communities by addressing critical needs such as water security, education, and infrastructure.
