A personalised year-in-review revealing how India listened across music, podcasts and languages
JioSaavn, India’s leading audio streaming platform with over 100 million monthly active users, has rolled out Replay 2025, its annual, data-led recap that captures how India listened to music and podcasts over the past year. Based on streaming activity recorded between January 2025 and mid-November 2025, Replay 2025 presents users with personalised summaries of their listening behaviour, now available directly on the JioSaavn app homepage.
Alongside individual recaps, the platform has also shared key insights and trends drawn from aggregate user data, offering a broader view of the country’s evolving audio preferences. Overall platform data showed Hindi, Telugu, Punjabi, Tamil and English as the top five most-streamed languages in 2025, underlining India’s continued affinity for locally rooted, linguistically diverse content. Listening activity peaked during the 8–10 a.m. and 5–7 p.m. time slots, closely aligning with morning and post-work commute hours.
Artist rankings on the platform were led by some of India’s most recognisable playback voices. Arijit Singh topped the charts, followed by Alka Yagnik, Pritam Chakraborty, Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghoshal, reflecting the enduring popularity of legacy and mainstream Hindi music talent. Regional listening trends, however, highlighted strong engagement with influential artists across languages and markets, including Devi Sri Prasad (Telugu), Anirudh Ravichander (Tamil), Karan Aujla (Punjabi), The Weeknd (English) and S.P. Balasubrahmanyam (Kannada). Together, these patterns point to a balanced audio ecosystem where legacy artists, regional powerhouses and global stars coexist.
Among the most streamed songs on JioSaavn in 2025 were ‘Saiyaara’, ‘Sahiba’, ‘Bujji Thalli’, ‘Barbaad’ and ‘Apna Bana Le’. Regional consumption further reflected language-specific favourites such as ‘Vazhithunaiye’ (Tamil), ‘Ranu Bombai Ki Ranu’ (Telugu), ‘Wavy’ (Punjabi), ‘Die With a Smile’ (English) and ‘Paravashanadenu’ (Kannada).
Podcast listening also saw strong engagement throughout the year, reinforcing JioSaavn’s positioning as a multi-format audio destination. The most streamed podcasts included ‘Shri Krishna Amritvani’, ‘Krishna – The Supreme Soul’, ‘Yakshini’, ‘Dhadkane Meri Sun’ and ‘Shiv Puran’, spanning genres from devotional content and mythology to audio fiction and reflective storytelling.
Beyond streaming, JioSaavn’s data also mapped JioTunes usage, revealing similar cultural and emotional touchpoints among users. The top five JioTunes overall were ‘Tum Hi Ho’, ‘Ram Siya Ram’, ‘Switch Off’, ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ and ‘Saiyaara’. Regional JioTunes preferences included ‘Godari Gaattu Meedha’, ‘Naane Neethane’, ‘Mohabbat Ab Bachata’ and ‘Mayabini’, highlighting growing personalisation driven by language, mood and context.
Replay 2025 aligns with JioSaavn’s broader focus on delivering highly personalised user experiences backed by robust data insights. By analysing listening behaviour across geographies, languages, formats and time segments, the platform continues to deepen its understanding of India’s dynamic and rapidly evolving audio landscape.
Replay 2025 is now live and accessible to all users on the JioSaavn app homepage.
