Sachet–Parampara Hit Back At Amaal Mallik’s Bekhayali Plagiarism Claim, Demand Public Apology

The controversy around Kabir Singh’s hit track Bekhayali escalated on Monday after composer duo Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur released a video refuting Amaal Mallik’s claim that he had originally created the song.

Amaal, in an earlier interview, alleged that Bekhayali was based on musical references he had shared on WhatsApp, and accused the industry of favouritism. Sachet–Parampara have now hit back, calling his statements “false” and “baseless”.

“Bekhayali is entirely our original work”

In their video, the duo stated,“Bekhayali is something we solely created. Every melody, arrangement and lyric was crafted with the entire Kabir Singh team,Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Shahid Kapoor and others, present in the room. We have all conversations and proof to support this. It is fully a Sachet–Parampara original.”

They added that they were not associated with T-Series before Kabir Singh, countering Amaal’s allegations of label bias.

“Why congratulate us if we stole your song?”

Sachet also displayed messages he claims were from Amaal congratulating them after the song’s release.
“Why were you calling and messaging us, saying you were waiting for our song?” he said. “We didn’t even have your number until you reached out.”

The duo demanded a public apology, stating:
“Since Amaal made these allegations publicly, the apology must also be public.”

They captioned the video sharply: “SHAME ON YOU AMAAL MALLIK.

What Amaal Mallik had claimed

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan earlier this year, Amaal said he had sent musical references that inspired Bekhayali and alleged that he was initially promised six songs for the Kabir Singh album, which was later reduced to one.

Another plagiarism allegation surfaces

Amid the ongoing controversy, composer Rajarshi Mitter’s wife, Nilanjana, accused T-Series and Sachet–Parampara of using her husband’s track without permission in Maiyya from Do Patti. In her now-deleted Facebook post, she called for action against the music company and criticised Sachet strongly.
