After a brief pause, the annual Indian Classical Music Festival in Bengaluru has returned, celebrating the rich heritage of Indian classical music with a thematic focus on Purana Gitam ,music inspired by ancient Puranic texts that connect Vedic philosophy with devotional traditions.
Running from February 5 to 8, the festival brings together leading Carnatic and Hindustani musicians from across the country. The Purana Gitam theme invites performers to interpret stories and spiritual wisdom from the Puranas through classical compositions, blending timeless texts with melodic expression.
Organised by the Bharatiya Samagana Sabha, the multi?day event features a lineup of seasoned artists presenting raga renditions, vocal and instrumental pieces, and ensembles that reflect the depth and diversity of India’s classical traditions.
