IPRS Brings Major Cultural Push To Goa With Music Showcase And New IP Hub This December

The Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS) is set to make a major impact on India’s music landscape this December with two significant initiatives in Goa: the return of the IPRS Stage at the Serendipity Arts Festival (SAF) 2025 and the launch of the country’s first IP Hub at the Future School of Performing Arts.

From 15–20 December at Azad Maidan, Panaji, the IPRS Stage will spotlight India’s rich musical diversity, giving emerging, regional and folk artists a national platform. The showcase opens with the Vayali Bamboo Band, whose bamboo-crafted instruments and eco-rooted sound set the tone for a week of creative expression.

The lineup through the week features Gulabi Vinyl’s blend of thumri, ghazal and classic Hindi melodies; Beintehaan, curated by songwriter-filmmaker Mayur Puri; Rooh-e-Qawwali led by Shahbaaz Hussain Khan of the Gwalior Gharana; and Dashugs, the high-energy Ladakhi band representing the new creative spirit of the Himalayas.

Alongside the performances, IPRS will unveil its first IP Hub, a grassroots initiative designed to guide independent musicians, lyricists, composers and producers on copyright, royalties, metadata, and essential rights management. The Future School of Performing Arts in Goa becomes the first location of a planned nationwide network of such hubs. To introduce the programme to the local community, IPRS will host an interactive session on 18 December, featuring insights from board member and leading songwriter Mayur Puri.

Rakesh Nigam, CEO of IPRS, said the twin initiatives reflect the organisation’s expanding mission. “With the IPRS Stage, we celebrate India’s extraordinary creative spirit, and with the IP Hub, we strengthen the support system for creators at the grassroots. Together, they reinforce our commitment to building an inclusive, informed and empowered music ecosystem,” he noted.

The partnership has also been welcomed by the Future School of Performing Arts. “The IP Hub will be an essential resource for students and local artists aiming to build sustainable, future-ready careers,” said Chief Academic Officer Nilesh Thomas.

With a vibrant cultural showcase on stage and a creator-focused resource behind the scenes, IPRS’ presence in Goa this December underscores its vision for a future where India’s artistic expression and creator empowerment grow hand in hand.
